On Wednesday night I took Cathy out for her birthday at the new restaurant Weslodge on King Street. It seems with the arrival of Gusto 101 (opened earlier in the year) and now Weslodge; King Street is trying to update their food reputation by offering up some where that is actually worth while to eat. Parkdale watch out because King Street is not only a place to go party any more.
We started our dinner off with the Scotch egg, Buffalo Tartar and Seared Bonito and everything was amazing. My favourite was the seared bonito which had a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness, and some how they managed to take avocados and shape them into mini peas (the flavours just popped). We than followed our meal with a 4 pound lamb shoulder. Once the lamb landed on our table everyone at the restaurant had to look over in shock that 2 girls would have ordered that. Well we may have not been able to finish even half of it, but we had great left overs the next day!
