pimp eats- Kaji Sushi

Last Saturday we all celebrated Christina's (aka Material Archive) birthday at Kaji Sushi. This is my third time there, and for those of you who live in Toronto its an experience that is a must try. Chef Mitsuhiro Kaji is one of the original sushi chefs in Toronto. The restaurant is situated in a very old and unattractive plaza, and as you drive up to it you could not imagine that a restaurant looking like that would be producing such amazing food. The menu is continuously changing depending on the seasons and the Chef's mood. On this visit we had a tuna belly sushi that was so amazing I couldn't get enough of. Everything is bite size and home made; down to the vinegar and soy sauce. The menu is a set menu with 2 different price ranges to choose from; oh and you cannot go a la carte. If you are looking for a quick meal this is not the place for you cause every time I have been there it has been a minimum of 4 hours for a full dinner service, but its worth every minute.
P.S. Those flowers that Christina is holding in her hands was a special gift hand made by Chef Kaji for her birthday. They were all carved out of vegetables.
Happy Monday Everyone!
