Iris Avis

Erin Fetherston

Kate Foley

This month has been all about summer cleaning...which means redecorating and trying to organize the mess of closets I have (which is giving the bf an ulcer). So looking for inspirations these 3 amazing ladies was a jolt of confidence and creativity to do some fun stuff to my flat.
So what are your summer plans?

lazy sunday with my girls

Wore this outfit yesterday while brunching with the girls at Mildreds (one of my fave brunch spots in Liberty Village). I recently have been shopping like crazy and one of my best purchases is this Chanel bag that I bought. Also how fab is this Swarovski crystal ring that I found? It caught my eye at the Pu-dong airport when I was coming home from China. And last of my new purchase in this post is this amazing coral maxi skirt from American Apparel. I love my maxi dresses but am not a very big fan of maxi skirts (I always thought it cuts you in half and makes you look short), but when I found this one I had to somehow incorporate it into my closet.

Outfit: Top (Lush), Skirt (American Apparel), Scarf (Burberry), Purse (Chanel)

These pictures were taken in front of my condo in China the day before I left. The gated community that we have our flat in is so big that it takes at least 15 minutes to walk around the whole compound...its a great work out to get to a cab. I already miss it...
This outfit is my "I just rolled of bed and I'm this sexy" look. Since its so hot in China wearing light garments was the key to survival. So I decided to put this outfit together by mix and matching the different prints giving a comfortable outfit (that could be taken as pjs) a twist...and now the look is trendy enough to wear out.
Happy hump day!

Outfit: Top (Lush), Pants (Vintage), Shoes (Kenneth Cole), Hat (Topshop)

shanghai pt.3

Sorry haven't been posting as regularly as I use to...I have been so busy trying to catch up on my life since I have been back from China. Plus it didn't help that I also got very sick, but now I am back to my normal self and I can continue to show you guys my trip from China.
The parks in China reminded me of London. People just appreciate it so much since everything else around them is so polluted and populated. Back in the days you had to pay to go and sit at the park in China, but now its free and I loved seeing all of the young couples courting in the park. Besides the parks the shopping malls in China is super big and there are so many of them. One of my new discovery from this trip is Versus cafe (how cool does it look), they had many yummy treats like strawberry and pecan napoleons...my mouth is just watering thinking about it!
Happy Tuesday!!!

Outfit: Jumper (Primark), Shoes (Kurt Geiger), Sunglasses (Vintage Ray Ban), Purse (Stella McCartney)

taikang market

Shanghai in the last few years has developed rapidly from their infrastructure and to their tourism. Taikang market is one of those examples of the creativity of the Chinese people. This market is situated in the middle of an old run down residential neighborhood, where the outside surrounds new upscale museum and department stores. But in this little market you will find the traditions and the history within the buildings, mixed with the new age atmosphere of pizzerias, bars and shops. You defiantly see a big influence of east meets west.
Happy Tuesday!!

Outfit: Blouse (Zara), Leggings (American Apparel), Shoes (Kenneth Cole), Sunglasses (Gucci), Necklaces (BCBG), Belt (Forever 21), Purse (Prada)

back from Shanghai

Finally got back from Shanghai and finally am able to access my blog. It just so happened that in China the government has restricted certain sites to be accessed and just my luck one of the restrictions was on my blog. Actually any western fashion sites or blogs were blocked. This surprised me as there are so much western fashion influences in China; as they purchased more luxury brands this last fiscal year than any other country. I have to say that the are so many stylish women of all ages in the city.

My trip was mostly for business purposes but since I have a lot of family and friends there I had to make my rounds. Once I landed in China (after a 14 hour flight) I had a few hours of rest and quickly was sweeped away with my own personal driver who took me straight to my friend's cafe (Q Cafe). Q cafe by day is a trendy cafe and by night its turned into a gathering place where close friends come to sing and drink. I thought I would wear something that celebrated my sense of style...like this dress. This dress is from the Kardashians line for Bebe 2010. I wasn't a huge fan of the line as I thought the collection was very basic and the designS looked like what has already been done before. But this dress defiantly stood out to me. I found it classy because it reminds me of a traditional little black dress but with a sexy twist of the added cut out and the fux leather fabric.

Outfit: Dress (Bebe by Kardashian), Hat (Topshop), Shoes (Valentino), Purse (Cambridge Satchel Company)
