Royal Wedding Must Haves: Hats!

Source: People

Yesterday Prince William finally married the beautiful Kate Middleton. It was defiantly the wedding of our generation. The Alexander McQueen wedding dress she wore (which she also helped Sarah Burton design) was absolutely gorgeous! The dress was elegant and conformed to the traditions of the Royal family, but she was able to incorporate her own sense of style to it as well. Beside the dress the second best thing about the wedding was the amazing hats (and fashions) that the guests wore. I think that everyone knows by now I love hats...they are a key piece of accessory for me. After seeing these hats I defiantly have even more of a hat obsession. All I have to say that one day when I get married I want all of my wedding guests to be dressed like these guests...hats, hats and more hats!

amuse-bouche

This weekend the bf and I did a lot of eating! We finally got to go to Frank's Kitchen, which has been one of the many few restaurants that I have been dying to go. The food was amazing and very rich. We started off the meal with a very delicious amuse-bouche that I could not get enough of so I had to show it off. It was a combination of a warm shot of pureed cream and cauliflower; paired with a spoon full of cold tomato salsa served under a fried ball of cheese (my mouth is drooling as I am writing this...). Obvious the meal progressed to be more and more delicious so I totally forgot to take anymore pics of the food...lol. Hope everyone had a delectable long weekend like ours...

Balmain inspired

This old leather jacket was going to be thrown out, but when I saw the Balmain collection for F/W2011 I fell in love with their leather jackets. So I took that idea and I did my own spin on it. I took gold and sliver safety pins and attached my shoulder chains on the seam of the jacket. I also criss-crossed the safety pins to give it more of an effect. Safety pins were also pinned along the front seam of the jacket. There is still a lot of work to be done on the jacket as I am planning to cover all of the seams with safety pins...so stay tuned!

Outfit: Leather Jacket (old Danier turned DIY), Blouse (Reiss), Pants (Aerie), Shoes (Baker), Bag (Vintage), Scarf (Alexander McQueen)

three things

Back to school
So this month I have been seeing a lot of backpacks updated by designers like Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang. The new looks are so cute and stylish that I wish I was back in school again so I can carry one. I never wore backpacks cause I found it to girlie, but these ones sure makes me want to go out and get one for myself! Loving the new backpack trend for April.

Cochella style
I love spring/summer for its outdoor music festivals like SXSW, but in April its the main event; Cochella. Not only do you go there for the music, booze and drugs, you also go and show off your style. In my opinion Cochelle has the most fashionable ladies attending the event; their effortless and simple style is to die for.

Baseball season
April is the beginning of baseball season...okay so I am not a big sports fan but since being with the bf I have to say I don't hate it as much. Out of all of the sport teams we have in Toronto I am most supportive of the Toronto Blue Jays, cause they are our only hope in winning any kind of championship. I have always liked watching baseball as it is a easy sport to understand...and sitting under the sun drinking cold beer what else can you ask for.

Hope everyone has an amazing Easter weekend!

muted colours on a grey day

The past few days the weather has been so cold and rainy, so I had to resort to taking pics in my staircase. I can't believe its April and we are still experiencing snow...ugh not happy. Hope your neck of the woods is better weather bound than here.

mixing prints

This weekend was a busy one for me, I attended two weddings back to back. Both weddings were very beautiful and special. This outfit is what I wore to the church for the second wedding, since it was a more casual wedding I decided to put together a soft but edgy look with different prints.

Outfit: Top (Unique), Skirt (TopShop), Shoes (Stuart Weitzman)

Shanay Hall by Seth Sabal

Photographer Seth Sabal created an photo shoot filled with his interpretation of drugs and rock and roll exclusively for Fashion Gone Rogue.  When I first saw these pics they took my breath away. I love the simplicity of these black and white pics which match perfectly with the outfits (wonder who was the stylist?). And the model defiantly portrayed the go FUCK yourself attitude perfectly...lol
Any who hope you guys enjoy the pics...TGIF!!!!

Wildfox Couture Summer 2011

Wildfox's lookbook for their Summer 2011 collection makes me crave for some hot weather. I am serious when I say that I am over this bad weather in Toronto, and I am starting to get moody! These pics defiantly represents my ideal summer day! See more of these fun pictures on Wildfox's blog
