Dolce&Gabbana F11

source: Style.com

Dolce & Gabbana's Fall/Winter 2011 collection totally threw me off my seat when I first saw it. There was a big influence of mens wear and sexy feminine sheer looks, and the collection was split between the 2 very opposite looks. I fell in love with so many looks and it was very hard to narrow it down to these few looks. Also I cant believe that the fanny pack is making its comeback...this 80s fashion horror has bad connotation to it but Dolce & Gabbana has given it a new life span.

standing out not blending in

I have given up on the weather in Toronto; first its warm then it snows and then the snow turns into ice...and the cycle keeps going on. It has been very frustrating to plan outfits. Yesterday when I woke up and saw snow on the ground I got fed up and pulled out my warm clothes...yet again. These sweatpants are super comfy and extra warm (they are fleeced lined), they are also very different as they are high-waisted so its uber funky. And the shoes are from Aldo...I am not a big Aldo fan but I had to buy these to add to my collection because the Burberry shearling shoes that I originally wanted was sold out. I settled...what can I say...
Anyways hope you guys had a great weekend...going back to the Oscars now.

Outfit: Fur Jacket (Vintage), Blazer (Mendocino), T-Shirt (Junk Food), Scarf and Pants (H&M), Shoes (Aldo)

never run down the stairs with scissors

Not a very special outfit today...however I mainly wanted to show off my hair and new shoes.
So this side braid look has been popular for a few seasons now, but for girls with layered hair (like mine) every time you try to make that perfect side braid you always have that piece of hair falling off. I have finally accepted it and I think it looks better that way (with the lose piece of hair).
The shoes were purchased last weekend at George S (one of my favorite boutique store in Yorkville). They have slip proof soles (whatever that means) and super comfy fit. As the weather yo yo back and forth I couldn't bring myself to buy any spring shoes, so in order to feed my shoe fetish I buy winter boots.

Outfit: Jacket (Vintage), Sweater (Rachael Roy), Tank (American Apparel), Tights (Forever 21), Boots (George S),  Hat (Big It Up)

Accessories it...jus like NYFW

source by: style.com

This past NYFW we got to see some great street styles (check it out here), and the one lesson that I have taken from these lovely ladies is that accessories are very important to an outfit. Without any accessories their outfits just wouldn't be the same, so these ladies have taught us that accessories are the best way to add more spice to your outfit (even if you are wearing all black). This year there has been a lot of attention paid to what is on your wrist; from bags to rings. But the best trend for this season are bracelets. You can't get away by just wearing one bracelet and be done with it. It has to be combined with many different types of pieces to give an unfinished feel.Oh and clutter is the key for this trend; if you feel your wrist is over done and heavy...than bingo you have it right.
Another accessory that I love are vintage broaches. They can dress up any jacket or blazer. This one that I am wearing is a very special one. My late father bought this for my mom around 20 years ago in Japan, on one of his business trips. Its one of my top 5 pieces of jewelry I have!

Outfit: Bracelets (from top to bottom) (Michael Kors, Jade mouse (my Chinese astrology sign) on red string gifted from my aunt, Brown leather braid with evil eye gifted, and DIY learn how to here), T-shirt (Wildfox), Blazer (Mendocino), Jeans (True Religion)

new look

How do you guys like my new look? To tell you the truth I do not need glasses I actually have great vision and these Gucci glasses are actually sunglasses with clear lens. I love this hipster look of the black thick framed glasses, it gives any look some coolness and sophistication. I think I kind of look smarter...lol
Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!
P.S. Thanks Jenn...ur the best!

Outfit Fur Vest (Forever 21), Jacket (Helmut Lang) Hat (Big It Up), Sunglasses (Gucci)

bring back the white

The weather has been so mild this week that I had to wear my fav blazer. This spring we will see a lot of colour and prints but don't forget the minimalist look and white! All white is the new black...luv the all white if you do it right with the right shapes and it looks so fresh and angelic.

Outfit: Blazer and Sweater (Zara), Skirt (Topshop), Shoes (Philip Lim), Necklace (DIY), Scarf (gifted from mom)

a day in business with Hermes

These pics were taken a few days go after a very successful business meeting. Personally I don't like business outfits I find that it doesn't have enough colour, so to stay true to my personal style I always add colour, prints and edge to a boring pant suit look. These pants are my new Robert Rodriguez pants that I am totally in love with...the wide legs is a must have for Spring. Also colour is important for Spring so to add a pop to the outfit I paired it with my new Hermes belt.

Outfit: Jacket (Religion), Blouse (Reiss), Pants (Robert Rodriguez), Fur Scarf (DIY), Belt (Hermes), Necklace (Coach), Shoes (Stuart Weitzman)

don't look up

This was my outfit from this weekend's TFI event. The weather has been so mild that I was able to get out of my winter coats and put on something light. I love layering especially with fur, its a great way to update an old jacket or even jazz up a new one. Thats why I always have a few types of fur vests in my wardrobe so I can mix and match them with other things and it becomes a totally different look.
After the event I went to my moms for Chinese New Year dinner. My mom recently redecorated her living room, and it looks amazing so I had to show it off. P.S. Alcohol and bananas are always a great combo...lol

Outfit: Fur Vest (Forever 21), Trench Coat (ASOS), Lace Top (Mendocino), Pants (BCBG), Shoes (Kurt Geiger), Purse (Fendi), Necklace (Jewelry by Prim and Pimp; new jewelry line that I will be launching soon which will be sold on Etsy.com and on this site...so stay tuned)
